listening in via scanner app
(the fd feed is down - but the police and fire feed is up)
"control" is the police dispatcher
"fire alarm" is the fire/ems dispatcher
400 is the officer on Engine 4
today - tuesday - station 3 test alerted at 855 am
yesterday - monday - station 3 test alerted at 832 am - address given
as 268 boston post road
wherever Eng 4 is based - they are very close to 420 maple st
police cars have 2 digit numbers - yesterday morning they were very
busy around 9 am taking prisoners to court
"Squad" or "Squad 1" seems to be based at the same fire station as Engine 2
yesterday someone did a radio test at 1023 am - the dispatcher said
that their ID showed as "Air 1" - no idea who that was - unknown if
was on pd channel or fd channel - maybe we will go back and check the
tape - we can probably figure out if it was FD or PD - maybe was a
drone - maybe it was a FD SCBA truck
FD channel sounded digital 1 minute ago - is the FD using P25 now?
yesterday there was a mention of a fly car - maybe an ems fly car
Eng 3 and Amb 4 went to an ems call yesterday
they dont seem to be doing any radio rollcalls / tests
maybe FD is running Eng 2 + Eng 3 + Eng 4 + Truck 1 + Squad 1 + Car 5
+ (Rescue 1 as needed for major crashes) - Car 5 is the shift
commander
Squad 1 just went on the air to Sta 3 for training
lets check firefandom and firenews and massFireTrucks for more details
https://massfiretrucks.com/FD Info Pages/MARLBOROUGH FIRE.htm -squad
1 is a minipumper at sta 2 - air 1 is a scba truck - R1 is a huge
rescue truck - Eng 4 is not a reserve engine as of today
https://www.firenews.org/mass/m/marlboro/marlboro.html - maybe E4 is
running in place of E1 these days - staffing is - 3 people per engine
- 1 person on Car 5 - 2 people each on Squad 1 + Truck 1 + Rescue 1 -
that sounds about right
Medic 3 just did a transport to the hospital - so they are not a fly
car - unless they strapped the old guy to the roof or hood
https://fire.fandom.com/wiki/Marlborough_Fire_Department_(Massachusetts)
- this shows Squad 1 at HQ but that might be wrong now
most of the data from the 3 sources matches up - minor variations on
reserve engines - stats on Squad 1 differ - etc
"Support" are FD SUVs etc - did hear that term uised as an radio ID
the other day
blah blah blah blah blah lol
"close the sallyport please" - radio messsage - PD must have a garage
door controlled by the dispather
firenews.org reports that the dispatchers are civilians and they
operate from the police station
have not heard anyone mention Ch2 yet
unknown if 46.42 is still used
repeaters seem to work good - most messages are static free
unknown if dispatchers can transmit and receive at the same time
FD does seem to use simplex on the main channel at time for field unit
to field unit messages - or they use some repeater that the feed does
not relay
