they contract with the feds for LATs and VLATs - aka fractional
ownership of a sort
The agency has ready access to over 3,000 local fire fighting vehicles
and more than 2,700 trained state and local wildland firefighters plus
substantial national resources from federal agencies.
(anyone want to explain how they can staff 3,000 vehicles with 2700
firefighters? are they using untrained staff?) (maybe they have 1500
tankers and 1500 engines - and they are all cross staffed)
