arlington mass - change to dispatch procedure today

on 460.60 R - around 330 pm today the AFD dispatcher tested with the
Armstrong dispatcher

since then the AFD dispatcher has been calling the Armstrong
dispatcher on 460.60 R to request ALS units - apparently this is the
first thing that the AFD dispatcher does when they receive an EMS call
via 911 or other means

after the AFD dispatcher calls Armstrong via 460.60 R - then
apparently they call the closest fire station and the Arlington R1 via
the vocal alarm system - (this is not heard via 460.60 R) - however
within 30 seconds the AFD units can be heard acknowledging the call
via 460.60 R via their portable radios

in the past - none of the comms with the Armstrong dispatchers has
been done via 460.60 R - pretty sure it was all done via telephone

for the last 3 ems calls - 5 minutes has elapsed between initial radio
traffic and arrival - but all 3 calls were in the 'rural' parts of
arlington - on the outskirts of town basically - not near the fire
stations
