Woburn Fire Department's Ladder Company 2 is currently based at
Station 2 (Headquarters), located at 731 Main Street.
The company recently underwent significant updates as part of a
city-wide expansion of fire services:
New Apparatus: As of early 2026, the department has a new aerial
ladder truck on order to serve as the dedicated Ladder 2 vehicle. This
follows the 2023 opening of the new $18.9 million headquarters, which
was designed with expanded capacity for multiple companies.
Operational Status: Ladder 2 serves as the second fully staffed aerial
unit in Woburn, complementing Tower 1. It is frequently dispatched for
major local incidents and provides mutual aid to surrounding
communities.
Staffing: In recent years, the city has increased staffing levels to
ensure Ladder 2 remains a fully staffed unit rather than a reserve.
Standard staffing for such a company typically includes a Lieutenant
and at least two firefighters.

quint and as the only firefighting unit staffed at hq?
