apparently the tallest fire ladder in usa is 137 feet

While "standard" aerial ladders in North America typically range from
75 to 105 feet, specialized high-reach models like the CR 137 are used
by departments in cities with many high-rise buildings

(sometimes google ai is kinda weak on the logic - how does 30 extra
feet help at a 400 foot bld? if there are 100 blds that are 400 feet
high - the 137 foot ladder still wont reach - where does "many"
buildings factor in? oh I know - a city with more highrises has better
chances of a highrise fire - and the mayor wants to be able to say "we
bought a 137 foot l;adder - we are perfect"

but south padre texas got 174 foot snorkel in 1996 - probably is dead
and buried now
