there is a parking lot outside my window, and a machine that dispenses tickets - put the money in and the parking ticket comes out
universally - the parent puts the money in the ticket machine - ticket comes out - parent gives ticket to kid - parent takes one kid hand - the other kid hand holds the parking ticket - off they go back to the car
I always thought that the kids would want to put the money in the machine - but apparently I was wrong

corollary - if there is a low wall nearby - kids will walk on top of the wall instead of on the sidewalk
apparently - a little danger is a good thing
