addiso county vt info

vergenes vt had a big fire dec 8 2018 530 am

listening to vergennes rescue scanner feed - only rescue units were
heard on this feed - fd and rescue were both toned at same time by
shelburne - maybe this was 155.295 R

listening to the ferrisburgh fire feed on 155.715 - it sounds like
ferrisburgh and vergennes both have their own repeaters on the freq -
multi FDs were paged on the freq - all were paged by shelburne
apparently - lots of simplex ops also heard - the vergennes fd
repeater came in very broken but some vergennes unit was heard asking
for the power company - the dispatcher was not heard - probably
because the signal dropped out of the feed - ferrisburgh page out was
very loud - and some ferrisburgh units were very loud initially and
then scratchy at scene - I dont remember hearing anyone else on
repeaters - in fact several units might have called enroute to
sheburne on simplex since you can just hear shelburne replying to them
without hearing the actual mobile radio

come to think of it - on the ferrisburgh feed - vergennes fd was paged
a little weak - then ferrisburgh fd was paged very loud - and then
some field units were heard heard loud and some were soft - so maybe
there were no repeaters at all - except for a MO3 at the scene maybe -
maybe I should go back and check - damn - more time down the drain

it was an old furniture plant or something - across the street from
the vergennes police station - initial dispatch was vergennes fd
followed by ferrisburgh fd 1 minute later

10 minutes into fire shelburne told the fire units tht the cop
reported a big water main break down the street - about 10 minutes
into the fire a they started to request multi tankers

no mention of a "2nd alarm" or "third alarm" or anything like that
