Hadano is 40 miles SW of downtown Tokyo
the 'fire brigade' is the volunteers
the 'fire department' is the paid guys
vols have 36 stations - paid guys have 5 stations
paid stations are 1 to 2 air miles apart from each other
vols have 36 small pumpers and small trucks with portable pumps
paid guys have 9 larger pumpers and maybe 3 ladders and misc other units
picture shows one of the small vol pumpers in a vol station
all of the vol stations are 1 bay and 2 storys - some of them are only
700 feet apart
I think that vols only get alerted for huge fires and disasters and typhoons
