Some good news: the number of daily new #coronavirus cases *appears*
to be starting to flatten.
It will take a bit longer for the number of daily new #COVID19 deaths
to flatten, but it WILL happen soon. PLEASE #StayHome.

The number of daily #COVID19 deaths in the US now exceeds *all* other
countries (#China not accurate). Sadly, daily #coronavirus deaths will
continue to rise, until ~2 weeks AFTER we #FlattenTheCurve of new
cases. The next 3-5 weeks will be brutal.

or half-truth? Even when the truth will emerge within a day or two?

When this comes to an end, whenever that may be, they'll say only X
number of people died (from coronavirus, listed on the death cert).
Six months later, studies will show that it was actually magnitudes
higher, indirect (no room for normal care) and direct
(respiratory-related)

They should be in body bags, placed in caskets or be cremated right
away. No embalming. Yes, there will be an odor after four days or so,
but funeral workers should not be exposed to this virus. (Hubby worked
for a funeral home in his 20s,)

Normally in NYC 20-25 people die at home each day. We are now at
200-215. Every day. For sure nearly all the increase is people w/
coronavirus. But not all are being counted that way. One reason that
the official NYC covid death count--already high--is certainly an
undercount.

Been monitoring numbers since the start, one that concerns me is the
Overall Case Fatality Rate on 20 Mar we were at our lowest of 1.3%
since then we've been going up to our present of 2.9%. Overall case
death rate is the number recorded infected divided by the number of
deaths.

Many possibilities, none of them good. Now I think his plan is to kill
as many people as possible and scare the rest into suspending the
elections indefinitely. Note how vehemently he/republicans/Fox News
are all attacking the idea of vote by mail.

What if we were to learn that Trump suppressed scary information re
COVID-19 (and the needed federal response) in January to postpone the
economic turndown until it could no longer endanger his Senate
acquittal? Retweet if you wouldn't be surprised by his making that
tradeoff.

.@NYCMayor says the City still needs 1,000 - 1,500 ventilators over
the next week. City currently has only 135 in its stockpile. Mayor
says they can get them from federal stockpile ( said to be about
10,000 ventilators) or from State stockpile ( 2,800 ventilators ).
