4 units from the industrial fire department from the Technical
University of Munich "TUM" responding to an activated fire alarm at
the Garching Campus, TUM Department of Chemistry. You can see both
CAFS Rescue Engines 1 and 2, the Tower Ladder and the Ambulance
leaving the station. As the alarm was set off, the Command Van wasn't
at the station, but you can see it leaving the scene later on. The TUM
FD is located at the Garching Campus in Munich County. Since the
university belongs to the state, so does the FD at the university. So
far it's the only state fire department in the Free State of Bavaria.
All other fire departments are either communal or belong to a company.
There are approximately 22,000 students and 10,000 employees at
Garching Campus. The Campus forms the entire borough "University and
Reserch Center, one out of only 4 boroughs in the town of Garching.
