ISO standards for FDs seek 1 engine within 1.5 miles and 1 ladder
within 2.5 miles and crews of 4 or 5 and dispatch within 1 minute and
travel time of 4 minutes ish and all rural locations within 5 miles of
a fire station and ability to flow 250 gm for 2 hours
is any of this based on reality?
is this based on horse drawn fire engines?
is this based on 1880s? did someone say ... boston and chicago burned
down but nyc did not ... so whats the difference? well nyc has
engines within 1.5 miles .... THERE YA GO ... lets do what nyc does
AND ... what are the real ISO standards anyhow? do they vary from
state to state?
