Arlington Massachusetts info from 1960 Annual Town Report
The Fire Department Physician, Doctor Feeley, responded to "many
emergency calls and alarms of fire" - (very interesting!)
new police box 424 was installed on Drake Road for elderly housing
new fire boxes 574 and 575 were installed on Drake Road for elderly
housing - (iirc one was at the north end of the bridge - and the
second was near number 36 drake - both were on telephone poles iirc)
there were 18 air raid sirens in Arlington - their locations are
listed - (I remember seeing one on Medford St by the cemetery - looked
like it was 2 feet high and made of metal - looked like a typical
electric siren - maybe 30 feet in air on maybe a telephone or
electrical pole - maybe was seen in 1980s)
