most channels show as 10 watts power - but ground tac and deck
channels dont show power levels - the deck channel is usually 163.10
5,000 and 3,000 and 2,000 feet above ground level are the limitations
on the aircraft channels
5 and 20 and 40 nautical miles are the service radius for the channels
the average firefighter probably does not need to know any of this -
but a good bottom line might be - radio channels are reused
intensively across the West during fire season - so limitations have
to be placed on the use of the channels - power levels have to be kept
low and radios must only be used near an incident or atb
