apparently there are 7 comm centers that serve both highway patrol and
marine patrol - iirc highway patrol has 7 troops - marine patrol only
has 41 officers so they are not a large agency
from the 2023 alea annual report - alea has 1,369 vehicles - aviation
unit has 8 pilots + 4 tac flight officers + use 2 flight officers from
other agencies + 4 mtnce people + 1 clerk -+ 3 bases ( Montgomery +
Cullman + Fairhope) + 8 OH58 (5 with FLIR) + 1 UH1H with hoist + 1
Bell 407 + 1 Bell 206L + 2 FW twins + 3 FW singles - alea has 6 K( -
swat got 159 calls in 2023 - Drone Units has 2 bosses + 20 pilots + 30
drones
SBI has a LIDAR system - then can do a 3D recreation of a crime - with
special goggles they can put a juror right into a virtual crime scene
