2004 info on tokyo fd

https://www.tfd.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/ts/sa/data/2024/organization_r6_3.pdf
- 1 page in japanese

https://www.tfd.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/ts/sa/organization.html - same info in English

you can see the 10 divisions listed along the left in red - each
division shows up on the map as a different color

each division oversees 2 to 5 battalions - they call them 'fire stations"

afaik the division HQs only have 1 division chiefs buggy assigned -
dont they they have any other units - same as fdny or lafd etc

there are 81 battalions and 208 "branch" / neighborhood stations

basically every station (battalion and neighborhood) has 1 ambulance
and 2 engines - battalion HQs also have a ladder and a batt chief
buggy and maybe a 2nd ambulance and maybe a rescue truck

maybe 6 of the neighborhood stations also have an aerial

there might be 1 quint snorkel

there might be 3 usar stations

there are 2 dispatch centers - tama controls the 2 west divisions -
everyone else is dispatched by downtown HQ

14 million population are protected by 18,000 firefighters

the white area below the blue division is the Inagi City FD - for some
reason they are the only independent FD in the prefecture / state -
thats a slight lie - there are 3 islands way offshore that have
independent vfds - maybe all the politicians live there are something

completely missing from this info is the 1100 volunteer stations - (we
have 1100 volunteer stations on the zerg90 map at this time -
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1Sedmq1BucK5nj-OO-jslKUyNcC8&usp=sharing
) - there might be 100 more - not really sure about that

so bottom line seems to be that Tokyo has 300 paid stations and 1100
volunteer stations
