2022 info about Japanese Fire Departments

https://www.kaigai-shobo.jp/files/fireserviceinjapan/1Fire_Service_eng.pdf

approx 25 pages of info

Japan fire deaths in 2011 were 1,766 - in 2021 they were 1,417 - thats
a 20 percent decline - possibly they have been doing lots of public
fire education over the last 10 years

average ambulance response time from call to arrival is 9.4 minutes -
it might be 5 minutes to get a bls crew from an engine - we know that
tokyo sends bls engines to critical ems calls - and they have more
engines than ambulances - actually - each tokyo fire station has at
least 1 ambulance - so maybe they dont save ANY time by sending
engines - in which case 9 minutes is pretty slow - but that probably
includes a healthy amount of rural areas

National Fire Service Teams have 25,000 members - this is lie the USA
USAR teams - they apparently are local firefighters who are trained
and equipped to go to incident nationwide

Japan has a population of 125 Million

45 million people are trained as volunteer fire prevention people -
apparently they have been given cpr and fire extinguisher training

there are 784,000 volunteer firefighters

there are 168,000 fulltime firefighters

fulltime firefighters cover 99% of the population
