MD EMS protocols seem to be wrong

this seems to be terribly wrong

" If the time of arrival at the trauma or specialty referral center
via ground unit is less than 30 minutes, there will generally be no
benefit in using the helicopter, especially for Trauma Decision Tree
categories Charlie and Delta. "

the goal is always to save the patient - by whatever means possible -
at the lowest cost

if medevac helos are on patrol over every county - then they should
respond to every alpha and bravo call - they should seek the nearest
safe LZ - or they should hoist the patient into the helo - all State
Police helos in MD have hoists afaik

1. situation 1 - patient on ground or on flat rooftop - drop
stretecher and medic - pickup medic and patient

2. situation 2 - paient inside a bld - gonna need someone to drag the
patient out of the bld and to the stretcher from the helo - anybody -
even the helo medic could be lowered to the scene and drag the patient
outside - then hoist away

3. situation 3 - patient in water - gonna need a diver or a floating
stretcher - rare

4. not quite so radical - cant use hoist in maryland except in state
forests - OMG CANT DO ANYTHING RADICAL - we dont care how many people
die needlessly - OMG CANT DO ANYTHING RADICAL

5. bottom line - helo can fly victim to trauma center in 10 minutes -
which is FAR less than 30 minute ground transport
