bottom line - many public safety radios in Texas will only operate in one band
in the usa - 5 bands are used for public safety comms - low band +
high band + uhf band + 700/800 + federal 410 mhz
interop channels are few and far between on low band and federal 410 band
low band is dying away - very few agencies have their primary radio
nets on low band anymore - CHP is the only big user
therefore - each county needs to have at least 1 interop repeater (or
base station) on highband and uhf band and 700/800 band
there are 3,142 counties in the USA - there are probably fewer than
100 that have interop repeaters / bases on highband AND uhf AND
700/800
everyone knows the channels - ish - VCall + UCall + ICall - easy peazy
- these channels were made available by the FCC ? 40 ? years ago
the solution has to come from Washington DC - this is a nationwide
problem - it needs a nationwide solution - FCC and FEMA have been MIA
for years when it comes to these technical issues
and where the hell is FirstNet and StarLink in all of this - are they
just super scams?
