each town has its own FD basically - police and ambulance services are
shared - each town has its own DPW and 'town garage' - St Albans has 3
police stations - state dot has at least 1 garage nearby - they plow
the Interstate presumably - plus state highways presumably
all or most 911 dispatch is done thru St Albans PD - except maybe for
state police
police are 460 mhz and 453 mhz - fire and ems use 155 mhz - als
probably comes out of saint albans
might be some ski patrols also
1 medevac helo flies from burlington
border patrol might have a helo also
otherwise - vermont state police might have 1 plane if they are lucky
155/.82 might be the countywide fire/ems dispatch channel - hard to
tell - also - every fd seems to have their own local channel -
https://www.radioreference.com/db/browse/ctid/2811 - 5 to 10 towns
have no dpw channel listed
its possible that all fire and ems paging is done on 155.82 but all
pages are automatically rebroadcast via the local FD channels - which
is kinda cool but maybe kinda slow also
take georgia fd for example - they might have a paging decoder at
their station that listens to 155.82 - when the georgia tones are sent
out via 155.82 - maybe the signal is immediately rebroadcast on
159.105 - which is why both channels are listed as Fire Dispatch
maybe the georgia fire station has a paging decoder that receives the
page via 155.82 - stores it - and then retransmits it on 159.105 after
the message finishes on 155.82 - that would introduce up to a 60
minute delay on some calls - maybe
