Extreme Fire Weather Threats in California; Heavy Rain and Flash Flood
Potential in the Deep South

Strong winds and very dry conditions continue to produce extreme fire
weather threats in southern California. Threats across northern
California increase again this weekend. Meanwhile, a strong cold front
will combine with tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico to produce
heavy rain with potential for flash flooding across the Lower
Mississippi Valley through tonight.

• Kincade Fire - CA; Tick Fire - CA
• Heavy rain and flooding possible – Lower Mississippi Valley
• Elevated/Critical/Extreme fire weather – CA

Tropical Activity:
• Atlantic:
o Disturbance 1: High (70%); Disturbance 2: Low (20%)
• Eastern Pacific: No tropical cyclones are expected through the next 5 days
• Central Pacific: No tropical cyclones are expected through the next 5 days
• Western Pacific: No activity affecting U.S. interests

Declaration Activity:
• Request for Major Disaster Declaration - Nebraska
• Amendment No. 1 to FEMA-4466-DR-TX
• Amendment No. 1 to FEMA-4461-DR-IL
