Powerful Fall Storm Impacting The Northeast; Potential Tropical
Cyclone Sixteen Forms

A powerful storm will continue to deliver strong winds, locally heavy
rain, and numerous coastal hazards from the Mid-Atlantic to New
England today. These winds may down trees, power lines, and cause
power outages. Also, Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen has formed in
the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings
are in effect from southeast Louisiana to northwest Florida.

Severe weather – Northeast
Critical and elevated fire weather – Central Great Basin to Plains
Red Flag Warnings – UT, CO, WY, NM, TX, OK, KS, NE and SD
Tropical Activity:
Atlantic: Invest 96L (Disturbance 1): High (80%)
Eastern Pacific: Potential Tropical Cyclone Seventeen-E: Low (20%) -
FINAL; Disturbance 1: Medium (40%)
Central Pacific: No new tropical cyclones are expected during the next five days
Western Pacific: No activity affecting U.S. interests
