Manila area fire info - 2017

National Capitol Region = 12 million population = Manila plus adjacent cities and suburbs

3,000 government firefighters with 139 trucks

volunteers have approx 600 brigades - probably with 10 or 20 people each - plus at least 1 fire truck each

so my guess on total volunteer fire forces is - 600 trucks and 6,000 volunteers

for a grand total of 700 trucks and 9,000 firefighters

NYC population is 8 million - with 10,000 firefighters and approx 500 trucks

bottom line - overall the totals look somewhat equivalent

but I think that the Manila fire dispatch system is much more fragmented - I think that the government has their own fire dispatch system - and the volunteers have 2 or 3 dispatch systems that they use

god only knows what radio channels are used

I am not sure if the vols have any scba or not - and the vols might not really staff their stations during the daytimes - and I dont know if they actually have people in the volunteer stations at night or not
