reviewed info today on the district 1 fire stations in tokyo - this is
the downtown area
it certainly is typical for large stations and small stations to have 2 pumpers
ambulances are scattered around
chief vans are usually at the larger stations - as are the ladders -
but not always
the volunteer stations downtown might use hand drawn portable pumps
more than mini pumpers - which would explain why the volunteer
stations looks so tiny
there might be 3 types of fulltime pumpers - pumpers that carry 5 tons
of water - pumpers that carry 2 tons of water - chemical pumpers
(which apparently carry some foam concentrate)
there might be a 4th type of fulltime pumper that carrys no water at
all - but that might be for just the most congested of neighborhoods
