Japan 2015 - 21,917 pumpers - etc

https://www.fdma.go.jp/about/organization/post-10.html

fire brigade = volunteers

permanent = fulltime

stockpiling probably means staffing - so 99.99% of population is
served by a fulltime station

fire pumpers - 7687 fulltime (FT) - 14,230 vol - 21,917 total

ladders - 1,201 FT - 0 vol - total 1,201

chemical engines - 990 FT - 6 vol - total 996

ambulances - 6,184 ft - 0 vol - total 6184

command cars - (small vans in cities usually) - 1,764 FT - 858 vols -
total of 2,622

rescues - 1,244 ft - 0 vol - total 1,244

portable pumps - 3,605 FT - 51,308 vols - 54,913 total

other fire trucks - 8,654 FT - 1,785 vol - 10,459 total - (maybe small
buses and small cargo trucks and public relations sedans and
motorcycles and hazmat trucks and field trucks etc - they dont seem to
have any brush trucks so I am not really sure what this number
represents - maybe it includes the tiny pickup trucks that some of the
vols have to carry their portable pumps)

helicopters - 33 FT - 0 vols - total of 33

=====================

I wonder if FEMA has numbers like this for the USA? lol lol lol lol lol
