COVID update by WBUR FM Boston 725 am est
doctors dont really know if they are getting better at treating
patients - but patients are younger in the 2nd wave so death rates
should be lower - (iirc they did say that they are in fact seeing
lower death rates right now - but the next couple of weeks will prove
it 1 way or the other)
Eli Lillie has been granted a Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for
their monoclonal antibody (MCA) drug - it must be given via IV
Regenron still does not have a EUA for their MCA
possibly there will be no 3rd wave if the MCAs and vaccines work well
---------------
also - Worcester Mass hospitals are filling up - elective surgeries
might have to be cancelled over the next couple of weeks
Rhode Island might have to reopen a field hospital
out West - ? Kansas ? - hospitals are running short of healthy staff
