it seems that modern medicine is very very technical but has to be
grounded in real world results based on extensive sampling of patients

What effect do sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors have
on outcomes in adults with heart failure with preserved ejection
fraction (HFpEF)?
ejection fraction is a measure of the efficiency of the heart ... 50%
to 65% in a person with a healthy heart ... 30% in a patient with a
sick heart .... from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ejection_fraction
6,000 patients studied over 2 years .... empagliflozin was the drug
given ... it reduced deaths 4% vs placebo group ... which seems to
indicate the drug didnt do much of anything ... and it was used to
treat patients with somewhat normal hearts "preserved ejection
fractions"
HFpEF is a whole thing of its own ... never heard of it before ....
