per wikipedia - Oneida County NY has 3 cities + 26 towns + 10 villages
every one of those 39 municipalities have their own DPW or Highway
Dept or Street Dept - except for the Village of Holland Patent and the
Village of Oneida Castle - maybe they are served by private
contractors - or maybe they are served by a Town DPW or the County DPW
the county also has a Department of Public Works - they have 3 garages
we have found radio channels listed for all of the DPW / Highway Depts
except Remsen Village + Vernon Town + Vernon Village + Vienna Town +
Clayville Village + Oriskany Falls Village + Sylvan Beach Village - (7
out of 39) - possibly they use cellphones or the county dpw channel or
an expired license - or maybe a county trs
each DPW / Highway Dept has their own radio channel typically - not
sure who serves as their dispatcher in the middle of the night when
snowplowing
one thing to keep in mind - some towns and some villages share a name
- Boonville Town + Boonville Village - Camden Town + Camden Village -
New Hartford Town + New Hartford Village - Remsen Town + Remsen
Village - Vernon Town + Vernon Village
DPW radio channels in Oneida County are always UHF 453 mhz or VHF
highband - except there are 2 low band channels - Sherrill 45.60 and
Boonville 47.70 - (and state dpw uses 47 mhz)

Highways and Bridges has also participated in The Shared Service
program for 41 years. This program was renewed with all Cities, Towns
and Villages within our County for the years (2021 – 2026), this
important document allows any municipality to share equipment and
manpower on individual projects throughout the year without having to
buy a piece of equipment needed to do a specific job saving their
residents thousands of dollars each year.
