private ambulance companys in massachusetts - transitions
in general
- in the beginning, there were mom and pop operations - some grew
large like Chaulk and Brewster and Fallon - 1960s 1970s
- then some of the mom and pops were bought up by AMR - 1980s
- now some of the hospitals are getting into the business with their
own ambulance services - South Shore Hospital then Spaulding then
Partners using Fallon and ?Cataldo? - now BIDMC is running their own
ambulances after using 2 private contractors - and Spaulding has
transitioned to MGH - apparently this is being driven by the hospitals
joining into 'chains'

in fall river + saint elizabeths in Brighton - catholic - maybe use
transformative / lifeline ambulance
