video does not show the person being struck
patient care - radio traffic
nearest level 2 trauma center is about 30 to 45 minutes away by ground
in new bedford - closest level 1 trauma centers are in providence ri
and boston mass - they are probably 90 minutes away
the local hospital right there in hyannis apparently cannot afford to
keep a surgeon on duty 24/7 - seems strange that there are not 2 or 3
neurosurgeons who could be oncall on cape cod - cape cod has a big
military base also but they just have a clinic
there are 2 hospitals on cape cod - could they be merged efficiently?
- could they save enough money to upgrade to trauma center status?
maybe they can fly the woman out on a uscg chopper - but maybe they
vibrate too much
maybe the ambulance could have met the helo at plymouth? depends where
the bad weather was located
seems that the woman was wearing yellow vests and was in a crosswalk
when the big pickup just plowed her over - seemed to be a white male
driver in 30s
