N winds tonight will transition to NE Santa Ana winds, bringing very
dry air to the coasts. This means dangerous Red Flag Conditions for
most valley & mtn areas in Ventura and LA Co Fri AM-Sat PM. Avoid
creating sparks & yard work, and report smoke to authorities. #firewx
#socal

what are the odds that 1,000 homes will burn between now and saturday
night? the streets are wide but the topography is brutal - many homes
are stucco - but full of plastics and ignition sources - extremely
flammable vegetation is everywhere except downtown -

hydrants might run out of water at any time - tanker trucks are rare
in the area - no one from the FDs wants to work extended shifts - no
fire trucks from WA OR MT are ever moved to socal for winter fire
season - few fire aircraft can fly at night -

10.0 quake or tsunami or nuke strike or WMD can happen at any time -
radio systems are very weak - 1 or 2 repeater channels per area - no
backups - no one knows how to use FB2T - hell give me 20 FB2T in vans
and we will make 20 channels available for every fire in under 60
minutes

[ quick - someone supply me with 1,000 van accessible road addresses
for FB2T deployment in ventura county and LA county - just need 100
feet of elevation above average terrain ]

question - do any of the bc buggies in the area have onboard FB2T? of
course not - do any have onboard MO3? of course not - they had one at
wtc on 9/11 - but no one bothers to read the official reports and to
understand what really happened - its much easier to be fed pablum and
to consider oneself 'educated' - so dont spend too much time trying to
figure out what went wrong - just take retirement and start collecting
them sweet sweet pension checks - until the public wises up and yanks
the funds
