2025 budget overview - vague - 25 pages ish
they are somewhat moving from volunteers to FT - no specifics - but
they are spending $5M between career fire and career ems and volunteer
companies
county gives 90K to rocky mount fd and 26K to each fd and 7k to ech
ems squad and 7K to county dive team - county also gives 26K to 3 or 4
FDs outside the county who have first due areas in the county
FD1 serves the City of Rocky Mount - plus an area outside the city in
the county (rocky mount is the city)
each fire station also has an associated ems / ambulance squad - all
share blds except for 1 ems squad (red valley)
station 15 might be the only station without volunteers - they run 1
engine and 1 ambulance
station 4 might have fire vols and county fire and county amb crew -
volunteer amb squad 4 might be unfunded / unstaffed now
unknown how much they collect from ambulance trip billing
county is spending 400K on new fire apparatus - 1.5M was requested
iirc - spending about 500K on new radio gear also - its all buried in
the budget - you can just search for 'fire' to get around 50 hits
