glenn county calif - misc fd info

The Hamilton-Bayliss Fire District was organized pursuant to §14400 of
the Health and Safety code of the State of California by the County
Board of Supervisors. On November 21, 1995 the Board of Supervisors
split the District in to two separate districts forming the Hamilton
Fire District and the Bayliss Fire District. The District was formed
for the purpose of affording fire protection, rescue, emergency
medical and other services relating to the protection of lives and
property to the residents within its boundaries. The District is
primarily funded by property tax and special tax assessment revenues
and is staffed by volunteer personnel who perform services for the
District without expectation of financial compensation.

per the county budget 2024 2025

county has oversight of 4 of the fire districts apparently - these 4
show up in the county budget - they spent approx $1.2M in 2024 2025
over the 4 districts - Hamilton + Artois + Bayliss + Willow Rural

the other FDs dont show up in the county budget - Elk Creek + Orland +
Capay + Ord Bend + Kanawha + Gelnn Codera Fire District + Glenn Colusa
Fire District

we can barley figure out the differences between the fire districts
and the fire departments - still working on it

also per the county budget - sheriff office is taking over fire
dispatch duties for all of the FDs - 2024 / 2025

note - Bear Valley Indian Valley Fire District has 2 stations in
Colusa County - but they also cover a large area in Glenn County -
their HQ is at Stonyford which is in Colusa County but very close to
the Glenn County border - Stonyford apparently does not have their own
FD

Elk Creek Fire District has some sort of Coop Fire Agrrement with Cal
Fire - it might be a Amador Plan arrangement - where Elk Creek pays to
keep the Cal Fire engine staffed thru the winter - or it might just be
a dispatch agreement - or a wildfire coverage contract
