Sec. 7:100. - Fire trucks to be given right-of-way; parking near fires
restricted; duty of motorists upon approach of fire trucks;
violations, penalties.

(a)

Whenever the fire apparatus is called out for duty in the City of
Eunice, it shall have the right-of-way over any and all streets,
avenues and alleys in the city. No unauthorized person shall be
allowed to race with or follow the fire apparatus to a fire, except as
provided in paragraph (b) hereof, or to park or stop an automobile
within three hundred (300) feet of the fire on the street on which the
fire is.

(b)

All unauthorized persons hearing the approach of the fire apparatus
shall bring their automobiles or other vehicles to a stop on the
right-hand side of the street and not to start again until the
apparatus is at least two (2) blocks distant.

(c)

Any person or persons violating this section, or any part thereof,
shall be punished in accordance with Section 1:21 of this Code.

Comment—The penalty provision of the ordinance from which the above
section was derived was revised to conform to the ordinance adopting
this Code.
