how about this for a solution?
cop car has a little drone with radio gear ... cop arrive at rural
scene and drone auto launches and hovers 500 feet over scene ... drone
can relay traffic from scene to distant dispatcher directly ... or
drone could have a satellite radio and link to a dispatcher via space
or cop could have a portable radio with built in satellite capability
or cop car could have MO3 and a satellite radio to link back to dispatcher
or drone could relay traffic from portable radio to car ... and car
could link back to dispatcher via satellite or direct via LMR
or all 3 (car and portable and drone] could each have LMR and
satellite capability ... that would maybe be the most best solution

yes .. this could apply to any public safety unit in usa ... except
maybe Manhattan ... they might not get any use out of satellite comms
... but wifi might be great for them
