this is a followup to a earlier video
bottom line - the fields 'outside' of wires exert forces on the
electrons inside the wires - the electrons inside the wires then
actually do some work
the analogy given is - the battery is the shepherd - the shepherd
tells the sheep dogs what to do - the sheep dodgers are the fields
outside the wires - the sheep dogs tell the sheep what to do - the
sheep are the electrons in the wires
there seems to be an analogy to heat and temperature here -
temperature is the speed that a molecule hits the side of a container
- heat is the effect on the side of the container caused by the speed
of the molecule and the mass of the molecule - or something like that
