The Barney Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is - pardon the
expression - setting the world on fire by lowering its fire rating,
planning a storm shelter and a new fire station and obtaining a new
rescue vehicle, among other activities.
Nestled on a hill overlooking U.S. Interstate 22 near an overpass, the
station sits quietly on 55 Fire Station Road not far from Union Grove
Baptist Church (and less than 4 miles from Cordova).
