trying to get a handle on all the different radio systems in the
Washington DC area

DC FD and PD operate on their own 700/800 TRS - PD is encrypted - FD
is not - (however - the police mutual aid channels and patches are not
encrypted - need to clarify what channels exactly are patched)

note to self - check capitol hill monitors website for more info

99% of feds are encrypted - note - most federal installations have
their own security forces but only the largest have their own fire
depts

JWIN - federal law enforcement - dc area and seattle wa area - 170 mhz trs

Capitol Police TRS - 170 mhz

IWN TRS - 170 mhz - ATF and fed interops - maybe le interops only

Joint Natl Capital Region TRS - 380 mhz - most of the military bases
in the DC area

Justice Integrated Wireless Network TRS - 170 mhz - mostly Seattle
area but also ATF HQ maybe

Unidentified Federal P25 (680) TRS - 406 mhz - unknown users

United States Department of Defense (14C) TRS - 380 mhz - just the
marine barracks in wash dc is listed on this system

United States Department of Defense (1B5C8-001) TRS - 380 mhz - 11
sites - NSA plus ???

Washington DC Area Federal SMR TRS - 406 mhz - natl zoo and natl mall etc

next - need to figure out how interops is done between all of these systems

note - the local and state governments have their own TRS - and many
private companies have their own TRS - and Fleet Call etc have large
TRS - maybe fed ex and ups etc have trs also
