but they do receive a monopoly on handling emergency calls - so thats something
this is very unusual for Massachusetts afaik - most towns and cities
spend some municipal funds on ambulance service - but some might have
contracts with private ambulance companies that do not ostensibly
require any municipal funding - but at the end of the day: the money
has to come from somewhere
