Court says Somerville owes almost $30M more for land seized for future
public safety building

Cambridge Day held this story for several days on the promise of
comment from a city spokesperson, but the promise was never fulfilled.

Though there is no current market for construction for labs, roiling
private projects throughout Somerville and Cambridge and the cities'
budgets, that wasn't a factor raised by Somerville's lawyers during a
two-week jury trial in July 2023, according to a Massachusetts Appeals
Court judgment on Wednesday.
