Camp Fire - 149,000 acres - 9,899 homes destroyed - 76 "fatalities" / deaths
Woolsey Fire - 98,000 acres - 723 homes destroyed - 3 deaths
on Woolsey Fire yesterday at morning briefing they said they wanted to
keep the fire north of the Pacific Ocean - I head the IC say it and
point to the map at the same time - no one laughed there - but I
laughed
--------------------------
it would be very interesting - for starters - to plot all of the
unstaffed fire equipment when these fires started
for example
all aircraft on Camp Fire and all USFS rigs
Butte County E37 - just got 1 firefighter to respond
Butte County Sta ?64 and ?37 - maybe they just got 1 person each - and
rolled the tankers - but not the engines
Did Butte County CalFire have any reserve engines manned?
Patrol 75 and Water Tender 144 from Los Angeles County - both
unstaffed apparently
LA County chopper went down with mechanical problem
did Ventura County FD have any extra staff on duty at all ? why was
there a special request for a 2nd helo on the Hall Fire? did they just
have 1 helo out of 5 staffed?
why didn't the Van Nuys helitanker go immediately to the Woolsey Fire
or Hall Fire? where was the ANF helitanker? where was the LPNF
helitanker? where were all of the LAFD helos? where were all of the LA
County aircraft - including super scoopers?
where were all of the ANF handcrews? no one thought that holding them
1 extra week or month would be a good idea?
