during the overlap hours from 10 AM to 6 PM there would be 6 fire

between 10 PM and 6 AM, that an awake crew can respond 2 minutes
faster than an asleep crew, and the fact that there are very few calls
between 10 PM and 6 AM
(I am just writing this up on the fly - it needs some tweeking -
arlington doesnt really need 6 fire engines and 6 ambulances at any 1
time - 3 EMS calls at once only happens once per month it seems - this
could be confirmed by looking at the incidents that got a response
from Lexington, Belmont, or Winchester Rescues - usually it happens on

The COVID-19 Story
The story should have been short and sweet. A couple of cases of strange pneumonia popped up in Wuhan. Local health officials trace the victims and contacts. People are quarantined. Spread is held to 20 or 30 people. Maybe 200 or 300 people.
But what actually happened was - initial investigation shows that open market was owned by VIP or secret lab had accidentally released virus. Local health officials did not want to go to jail for life. So they started a coverup. Cases exploded. Beijing got word and heads started to roll.
Meanwhile in the United States, the military knew about the virus within 1 week. Maybe the President was notified. Nothing was done for 3 months or more.
Now the US stock market is down 40% - thousands have died agonizing deaths - all of the USA is in lockdown - and the rich have 2 trillion more to play with. The rest of the world has suffered similarly.

away. No embalming. Yes, there will be an odor after four days or so,

200-215. Every day. For sure nearly all the increase is people w/
coronavirus. But not all are being counted that way. One reason that
the official NYC covid death count--already high--is certainly an
undercount.

Been monitoring numbers since the start, one that concerns me is the
Overall Case Fatality Rate on 20 Mar we were at our lowest of 1.3%
since then we've been going up to our present of 2.9%. Overall case
death rate is the number recorded infected divided by the number of
deaths.

.@NYCMayor says the City still needs 1,000 - 1,500 ventilators over
the next week. City currently has only 135 in its stockpile. Mayor
says they can get them from federal stockpile ( said to be about
10,000 ventilators) or from State stockpile ( 2,800 ventilators ).

The #COVID19 pandemic is a terrible gift from the rich to the poor.
Rich people travelled abroad then returned to communities where Blacks
are more likely to • take mass transit • have jobs where they can't
work from home • not be prioritized for treatment as vents rationed

Frisco Texas apparently has medics on all units - they have - 3 als
eng + 5 als quints + 2 als 100 foot ladders + 1 als heavy rescue -
they also have 6 MICU (als ambs) - per powerpoint for civilian fire

Plano Texas FD - 13 stations - 13 engines - 5 ladders - each has a
crew of 4 - and 2 people on each rig is a paramedic - they also have 8
ALS ambs and 2 parttime ALS ambs

on Thursday Jared and Admiral said 7,600 vents had been pushed to
states - unknown which stockpile they came from
Info from Saturday - USA should peak on April 15 and need 31,000 vents
kinda looks like we might squeak by - if they can do some fancy
footwork in the next week - should not be that hard to load up some
empty jetliners with vents and respiratory techs and fly them wherever
they are needed

is mutual aid ambulances being given endless BLS calls
just to be clear - the dispatcher was either joking around a little or
just brain dead - because - yes - we would expect that a patient with
abdo pains would be coded in the CAD as 'abdo pains'
