I suspect that -
there is 1 Group Manager per Group and 1 Station Manager per Station -
but there are 4 Station Officers and maybe also 4 Sub Officers + maybe
also 4 Leading Firefighters per fire station
Group Managers and Station Managers respond to emergencies in cars -
the others respond on fire trucks
the 4 Station Officers etc are on the platoon system - one works for
24 hours and then is off duty for 72 hours - there is only 1 Station
Officer on duty in each station at a time
So the USA equivalents are - Station Officer is Captain - Sub Officer
is Lieutenant - Leading Firefighters in Engineer/Chauffeur/Apparatus
Operator
I further suspect that Station Officer is on the Pump Escape - the Sub
Officer is on the Pump - the Leading Firefighter is on the Aerial
