p broadcastify scanner feed lists dispatch channel only ... but maybe
ch2 traffic is on the feed also
ch 1 seems to be dispatch and response
ch 2 seems to be for more serious calls
ch 3 might be for admin messages
no tones heard on ch 1 but verbal dispatches are heard
map number given for all calls
first engine on scene always announces which hydrant they are on
1140am sunday ... Engine 10 and Ladder 10 did portable radio and
mandown tests with the dispatcher ... on channel 1 I think
Eng 10 ... "Engine 10 testing with Bridgeport"
Dispatcher ... 'Engine 10 heard OK, ID shows as Engine 10 Officer;
mandown alarm received OK'
no tones or chirps heard via feed
radio IDs were ... Eng 10 officer + pump + hydrant + nozzle + spare 1
... Ladder 10 officer + Driver + Irons + Can + Spare 1
iirc each units announces when they respond to a call and when they
arrive at a call
11 am approx mayday tone test ... beep beep beep ... evac tone test
... hi low warble
earlier heard a mayday drill .... sat 142 pm .... Batt Chief
reported to dispatcher that Ldr 11 irons had declared mayday, was
mobile, 2nd flr, rit activated .... then 10 beeps and dispatcher
repeated the message ... might also have said 'maintain radio
silence' ... also extra engine + ladder + bc + amb sent
they use amr ambs but they are not on the fire channel ... dispatcher
has to call amr via telephone
