4X the national average ... alcoholism is a huge problem ... and here

... 2021 study of navajo police ... they want to go from 300 cops to
500 cops .... that never really say what their average response time
is but they mention '2 hours per call" ... so I assume that is 1 hour
travel time to scene plus 5 minutes to arrest someone ... and then 1
hour travel time to jail ... Arizona State cops also patrol the
reservation ... but maybe only the state highways

come to think of it ... navajo police have 300 on staff ... but Navajo
FD has only 18 on staff ... but there are a bunch of other FDs on the
reservation besides that Navajo Nation FD .. not really sure about
that ... do the rural schools still have their own FDs?

note ... navajo nation also operates their own ambulances, buses, and
public works and public utilities and telecomms and housing ... they
have housing complexes / villages all over the reservation with 90
homes each typically ... each village also has 1 school, 1 senior
center, 1 chapter house, plus 1 private store / gas station
