too bad they dont just run the feed in real time until they need to
kill the feed for some dire situation ... would be even better to run
channel in clear until a dire situation requires that encryption be
turned on ... field units could transmit in encrypted mode 24/7 ...
repeater would broadcast in clear mode till someone needs the
encryption turned on on the repeater output ... iirc all modern
mobiles and portables can handle that readily
