bottom line - each "station" has 1 type 6 wildland engine usually -
they also have around 30 lookout towers and some recon planes - they
also have around 5 helios and 5 SEATs - main fire season is in the
spring - some districts only have type 7 slipon fire units - they also
have some dozers - there is more info at the map index
there are 20 forest districts - and each usually has 3 to 5 stations
not every county has a station - they seem to orient themselves more
towards rural areas than suburban - local fire departments actually do
most of the initial attack in most areas - there are a couple of very
rural counties that only have 2 or 3 local FDs
state forestry has wildfire responsibility over 2 million acres
state forestry will take over any major wildfire that continues past 1
operational period
