road to the area - dirt road that leads to Forest Road 301 - Coconino
NF had no problem sending dozers + water tenders + type 3 engines in
there
but apparently Flagstaff FD and any rural FDs and State Forestry did
not send anyone - that fire burnt for nearly 45 minutes until the
first water equipped unit arrived - (IC arrived in 30 minutes)
wildcad from flagstaff dispatch shows the fire at 18 acres now - units
are going back to the fire scene today
this is the neighborhood of homes that are 1.5 air miles to north of

subdivision
insane that the fire burnt for 45 minutes until anyone arrived with
water - surely Flagstaff FD could have had 2 or 3 trucks in there in
15 minutes
where the heck were the helicopters and airtankers?
google maps shows the usfs land as green - apparently there is no
cooperative agreement between USFS and Flagstaff FD - which is very
very weird considering that USFS has not 1 but 2 fire stations right
in Flagstaff
