The Estes Valley Fire Protection District is at high risk for large,
high-severity wildfires due to dense forest conditions, dry and hot
weather, and strong, gusty winds. Increasing drought and warming
temperatures exacerbate wildfire risk in the area. The Estes Valley
Fire Protection District and residents in the EVFPD must prepare for
large wildfire events. Proactive work is imperative.
