I have not checked FPD 5,6,7,8,10,11 explicitly yet
to figure out this county you need to first get list of FDs from state
fire marshal site - then check the fpd list - then check the county
assessor land records - and it would be great to see what the county
budget shows
in the end you would hopefully find out which fire trucks are at which
fire stations - who pays for them - who controls them - who staffs
them - who sets the budget for them
I suspect that the FPDs contract with the VFDs for service and
manpower - the FPDs probably pay for the stations and equipment to
serve the unincorporated areas - the mayors and city councils pay for
the fire service in the cities

hard to believe - and the cameraman could have easily missed it
just noticed that he shot the towers before the plane hit - so he knew
he had the camera angle (maybe way back in his mind)
just yesterday I heard a small plane nearby - immediately I started to
scan the sky outside the window - we dont have too many small planes
around here usually so it was somewhat unusual - maybe we get 1 small
plane per week around here - the jetliners are more common - but they
are higher and quieter - at least they used to be - they have been

I dont understand why firefighters won't stop risking there life when
it comes to power lines down call the power company and have them
check to make sure the line is denergized before getting near the
lines. Just because its on the ground doesn't mean its dead. I work
with this stuff everyday day and people take too many chance when It
comes to down power lines dont get near them.

If Boston Mass had to send a bunch of fire trucks out of state today - what radio channels would they use?
1. whatever direct channels they have in their portable radios would probably be OK - especially any BFD channels - they are at 483 and 486 mhz - no one else in the world uses those channels - except maybe 1 FD on Long Island or in NJ
2. dispatcher to convoy comms would be more difficult - there is no vehicle tracking system - there is no nationwide radio system - unless they have a satellite phone or a working cellphone - even then, there can be significant dead spots - iirc 151.145R is the official fire convoy channel in Massachusetts - but I have no idea if all of those repeaters are operational - there are approx 10 across Massachusetts - they can give some coverage out of state
going to Maine - 154.31 or 154.695? would be the channels to have
going to New Hampshire - probably 156.09 or 154.28 or 151.445 might work statewide - maybe - possibly - 154.19 or 159.90 and 154.355 and 154.43 would cover a huge part of the state - but those are very busy channels - and the right PLs are needed
